Mi querido amigo:
Por ruegos del Sr. Clarence Senior, jefe de la Migration Division del Departamento del Trabajo de la Oficina de Puerto Rico en Nueva York, tengo el gusto de enviar a usted el informe La realidad poblacional de Puerto Rico ya agotado, del que es autor el Dr. Emilio Cofresí. En relación con dicho escrito me dice el Sr. Senior:
“We were discussing a campaign to make available literature on Planned Parenthood throughout the western hemisphere where Spanish is spoken and read and we outlined an ambitious program of work in that field to cover the next few years. It occurred to me that the Fondo de Cultura Económico [sic] of Mexico might be interested in bringing out a new edition of Cofresi´s book. Incidentally, I suppose you know that Cofresí is being put on for at least one year as a full-time executive director of the Family Planning Association of Puerto Rico, starting July lst. I asked Cofresí if he would be willing to revise the book, bring it up-to-date, and, if considered desirable, broaden the scope a bit to take in a little more territory and make it deal with other areas than Puerto Rico”.
Me pide, conociendo nuestras buenas relaciones, que actue de mediador para proponer a ustedes la edición del texto reelaborado y actualizado, y agrega:
“We would be willing from the western hemisphere office of the International Planned Parenthood Federation to do a considerable amount of promotion work for the book.”
Le ruego que me dé alguna respuesta –ojalá fuera positiva– para trasmitirla a Mr. Senior.
